Pods and Reo
Client Merchandise Pack

The challenge

Operating in Queensland’s fast-paced residential construction sector, Pods and Reo is a small business that relies on an interconnected B2B network of large volume builders, raw material suppliers/freight providers and small business owners who managed trade contractors.

With this in mind, Pods and Reo reached out to our team to discuss new ways to market the business that would build trust and rapport with clients, and ultimately drive long-term growth.

Guided by our expertise and experience, Pods and Reo elected to deploy a strategic, targeted merchandise initiative that shifted the client away from outdated, traditional marketing methods and toward a structured, high quality B2B corporate gifting program.

The specific goals of the campaign were clear: heavily enhance brand visibility on-site, eliminate costly delivery placement errors on construction sites, protect trade workers in harsh environments, and actively build mutual trust across the B2B pipeline.

The solution

In pursuit of these goals, the strategy centered on developing an integrated, multi-faceted merchandise pack, deliberately designed to address the functional needs of Pods and Reo’s clients.

Within the branded merchandise pack, different products targeted different segments of Pods and Reo’s customer pool:

  • Vendors: For the logistical and delivery sector, we sourced custom manufactured, highly visible on-site corflute signs.

Trade business owners: A premium range of branded apparel was developed for these business owners to distribute to their teams, including Hi-Vis Polo Shirts, T-Shirts, and Tanks, alongside protective Hi-Vis Hats and heavy-duty Sunscreen, enabling subcontractor bosses to easily provision their workers with essential, daily-use safety gear.

  • C-Suite: For corporate decision-makers and executives, premium gift packs were curated, each containing a curated selection of executive-level merchandise, including a premium umbrella and innovative, travel-perfect sunscreen.

By repositioning the client as a professional, safety-conscious corporate partner, the merchandise was deliberately framed not as an afterthought, but as a modern replacement for the traditional "case of beer".

Socially and culturally, the program yielded a remarkable behavioural transformation among the trade contractors. Concreters are traditionally a tough, no-nonsense demographic, yet the receipt of high-quality, protective hi-vis apparel, hats, and sunscreen immediately and significantly improved on-site engagement and interactions almost immediately.

The client’s internal office staff reported a distinct, measurable improvement in day-to-day administrative interactions., while operationally, the introduction of the custom corflute signs led to an immediate drop in logistical errors.
